Dr. Robin Hodges Harwood, Ph.D.

(Licensed Clinical Psychologist, PSY23198) Dr. Harwood earned her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University/CSPP and is licensed to practice psychology in the state of California. Dr. Harwood earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Dr. Harwood has extensive experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families. She has provided in-home behavioral support, parent support, and education as well as school-based behavior services for children and adolescents. Dr. Harwood has participated in the development and implementation of a cognitive-behavioral group intervention for adolescents struggling with anxiety and social skills challenges. She enjoys working with children and their families in one-on-one as well as group settings.
Additionally, Dr. Harwood has worked with adults in various therapeutic settings including an intensive inpatient psychiatric setting and an outpatient therapy setting. Dr. Harwood's research experience includes a year-long internship at San Diego State Research Foundation's Center for Behavioral Epidemiology as well as a placement at the Salk Institute's Laboratory for Cognitive Neuropsychology. She conducted her dissertation research on attention abilities in siblings of children with autism.
In her private practice, Dr. Harwood enjoys working with a diverse population. She has treated individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, grief and loss, work and career changes, fertility/pregnancy/post-partum difficulties, and relationship problems. She especially enjoys working with teens and college-aged individuals as well as families involved with the military, police, and fire services. Dr. Harwood also teaches Psychology courses at the local Community Colleges and enjoys spreading her knowledge to the upcoming generation. She supports individuals of all ethnic identities, religions, family constellations, and is LBGTQ-positive.
In her personal life, Dr. Harwood enjoys spending time outdoors: running, biking, hiking, skiing - you name it! Dr. Harwood works hard to maintain a healthy balance of work, family, and fun!
